With such a big family being on the internet is happening at some point in the home. But our PCs are in the den and the kids are never without parental super vision. Even the teens are kept an eye on! We do have parental controls on their sub accounts too and they’re only allowed on the sites that we’ve allowed. So we have everything in place to keep them as safe as we can. Thankfully.

Thank you for your comment, it is very difficult to know what’s best, as it is part of life now and I don’t want to deny my children what is part of society and extremely useful.

I think they grow up with it so much now it is hard to control what they use and when. My oldest 2 are 8 and 5 and don’t use the internet yet, apart from occasional use at school for research. I think we need to keep them young as long as we can!

What a cute picture, I love how children are so easily entertained by the simplest of things. As for online, I dread the thought of my son going online, I’d prefer him to be into books, playing outside and imaginative play but I guess the way of the world is all online now as you said. I learnt about the internet at the age of 11 and I think that’s a good age.Just stopping by from the Mad Midweek Blog Hop

Oh, this is such an interesting one, and while I want to encourage my kids away from their screens as much as possible, I also think that they need to learn about the Internet. It is everywhere, and is now an important life skill – and safe use is crucial, which you have to teach them… My 7yo has to use the Internet for school, my 4yo plays games, but doesn’t go ‘online’ although he already understands what it is. Sorry, long comment! Perhaps I should write a post too #MMWBH

I totally agree with you – my son is 4.5 and at most he has used the Cbeebies website to play games with me. I’ve actively avoided “technology” for my children up till now but I do think we’ll be buying him a tablet for his 5th birthday – he certainly wont have unsupervised access to the net tho!

My daughter is almost 4 and is allowed to play educational apps on my tablet and sometimes uses the cbeebies website, I don’t really consider this to be her being online as she just sees it as playing games, her time is very limited on it though
