It can be fascinating watching a child create something from nothing, then I usually spend ages trying to work out what it is (without offending them!).

I totally agree with you about creativity. They don’t have a lot of time at school to allow the children to do their own thing for however long they like. Loved the Montessori system for that. I believe that its part of my role to give my children the room to create at home. I love the ideas they come up with by themselves.

I agree 100%! They do not necessarily need an end product or too much guidance. My little ones made a hopscotch game out of paper and tape this afternoon and that provided them with hours of fun! Will definitely be trying the spaghetti art with them! x Mel

Give it a try, while they are busy making craft mess, they are not pulling toys off the shelf, it’s just a different mess. I agree with nursery/preschool though, they can get a good art and craft fix there
