What’s on in Berkshire this February

What’s on in Berkshire this February

I am very excited to be joining Bella Kidz soon, by becoming a local editor for the Berkshire area. Bella Kidz is a great parenting website and I am really looking forward to having my own Berkshire Bella Kidz site. One of the things I will be writing, is a local ‘what’s on guide’, so I thought I’d get some practice and share my ‘what’s on in Berkshire this February’  guide here, as some of you might find it useful…..What's on in Berkshire this February

What’s on in Berkshire this February

February can be a difficult month, Christmas excitement is over and it’s still cold outside. However there are many great events happening throughout Berkshire to keep the whole family busy and entertained this month and over half term. Here is a selection of some events you could try…

  • Arborfield REME museum will be running various activities throughout the museum, as well as a mini assault course during half term
Wed 18 – Fri 20 Feb: 11 am – 3.30 pm. A change of clothes may be needed. Suitable for children aged 5-12. http://www.rememuseum.org.uk/whatson.aspx
  • The lookout Bracknell are showing ‘Toys in trouble’ – 17 January to 4 May 2015. A fun show looking at the science behind toys. It runs at weekends and during Bracknell school holidays. The show is suitable for children who can sit down for up to half an hour. http://www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/thelookoutweekendandholidayshows
  • Bracknell Forest – Make a bug at Jennett’s Park, Tues 17th February, drop in between 10am-12pm. There’s an opportunity to make bouncy spiders, glass painted bugs from recycled material and discover mini beasts. Suitable for ages 5-11. http://www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/parksandcountrysidevents
  • Thatcham nature discovery center has many events happening, from a wetland walk every Sunday throughout February to Crocodiles of the World, which is a conservation and education zoo or how about becoming a wildlife warrior and get hands on experience with wildlife conservation during half term? Take a look http://www.bbowt.org.uk/whats-on?keys=nature+discovery+centre
  • Alternatively, enjoy some family music time with Nick Cope also at Newbury Corn Exchange. Have a fun hour of songs about everything from counting and animals to how plants grow. Nick Cope writes and performs songs for children and their families. Saturday 14th February at 10.30 http://www.cornexchangenew.com/events/info/nick-cope-early-years-music
  • There are some fun events during half term 16-18th February at Reading Museum where you could try some block printing, make a glittering rosette, get a Victorian schoolroom experience or have fun making a card rocking horse. Check it out for details of each event http://www.readingmuseum.org.uk/events/family-activities/14?page=2

I hope you find something you may like and manage to get out to have some fun.
