Let kids be kids christmas
Over the christmas period a large amount of time is generally spent indoors, yet it is so important to get outside with children when you can. So one thing that has become a tradition in our house, is to go for a walk on christmas eve, to get some fresh air and burn off at least a portion of all the excited energy built up in the children. This year we went to the local park.
The children scooted. It was a gorgeous morning with blue skies and plenty of fresh air. At the park the children played, ran around, swung on the swing and balanced on beams whilst daddy played with his new drone (quad copter) and I played with the camera, practicing some shutter speed photos after my photography workshop I attended two weeks before.
We had a lovely time and felt much better for getting out (even if the walk home was not as smooth as planned, when BB fell off his scooter and screamed the whole town down!), before heading back home to more cooking prep and games.
The children even managed to get out for a short time on christmas day too. They were given a minion onesie each from our friends. They looked so funny and cute in them that they wanted to go out to say happy christmas to some of their friends. Grandad walked them round the corner to their friend’s house. En route they got beeped at and one person said, he saw the children in their minion suits and thought he must still be drunk while another said “you’ve made my day”! It was so funny!
BB even wore his super hero cape I made him for christmas too, so he was actually a ‘super minion‘!! The children absolutely loved their onesies and it took me 2 whole days to prize them off the kids to wash them, no matter how hot they got!
We had a wonderful family christmas together, I hope you did too.
