Birthdays

Birthdays

BirthdaysThere are so many words I could choose for my word of the week…..exhausted, fun, panic, stress, parties, but I think ‘birthdays’ probably sums it up best.

Three children’s birthdays in one weekend is stressful. We had two birthday parties and three birthday cakes. My girls had a craft party and BB had a bowling party.

I believe in trying to give my children individuality as much as possible and most children have their own birthday cake and party, so why should my children miss out, just because they are all born at the same time! Hence, the stress of making 3 birthday cakes and 2 parties (I’m sorry, I couldn’t manage 3 parties!).

BB chose an easier party option….bowling. There were eight children in total. They played one game over two lanes. It was so much fun, even though most of them had to use the frame to help them bowl as they are still quite little, they loved it!

My girls were so excited, every time they rolled the ball down, they were jumping up with their arms in the air, no matter how many skittles they knocked down. BB did brilliantly and got 2 strikes in a row! Bowling birthday party

It was hard work trying to keep control of eight children with very heavy bowling balls, but luckily with grandparents help, we managed it without loosing any toes! All the children were laughing, giggling and jumping around excitedly the whole time, it was wonderful to see. BB won, which he was absolutely delighted about!

The children all had food there at the bowling alley (great, less work for me). This was followed by the birthday cake. BB wanted a space cake, so I made a moon with a rocket and stars on top. It took two attempts at this cake….one over flowed in the oven and then the icing melted! Still, I got there in the end.Space birthday cake

It was a wonderful bowling party and an amazing birthday weekend, definitely one to remember.

  3. Looks like everyone had a great time! Bowling is such fun x

  4. This looks like an epic party at the bowling alley. (I’m mentally bookmarking all of these ideas for when my two Chicks are older). Fabulous cake!

  5. Looks like a brilliant time was had by all, and those photos are adorable – so happy! I can’t even imagine the stress and exhaustion of all birthdays at once, rather than spaced out, though it does mean you’ve a whole year to recover before any more! Hope you manage a more relaxing weekend this week :) Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

  6. That was very bad planning having all 3 birthdays over 2 days (and confusing for alot of people no doubt) – we are all well spread out although I suspect that was luck rather than any forward planning on our part – Feb, May, July, Oct :)

  7. oops -sorry – that last post sounds rather snotty and was supposed to have a couple of exclamation marks attached!! Hit return too fast #sigh

  8. Stressful and tiring for you but you can see in these pictures that your kids had huge fun. I think Mums probably need a spa day after kids birthdays (at least I do with my twins). This year I managed to get them to share one cake but I’ve made them separate ones until now.
