Logistics

Logistics

LogisticsAs soon as you give birth to one child life can become a juggling act. From the moment you give birth to a second and subsequent children, life becomes a logistical nightmare!

For me this week has been a logistical nightmare. Hubby is away all week, so I am alone trying to get three children to and from different locations, often at the same time! How do you split yourself in 3? I don’t have family around to help, so I’m on my own with it and I would hate the thought of my children missing out on something, just because it’s difficult.

This week has been worse than usual, as BB had a mothers day tea at Beavers where mums were invited for tea. As BB is new to Beavers, I think he would have been heart broken if I had not gone. So I had to pick his sisters up from nursery very early and take them to a friend, in between taking BB to beavers before returning to Beavers for the mothers day tea. It was lovely and I am glad I went to the effort.

Hence, we have been rushing from swimming to nursery, to school, to beavers, to friends. It has been hard work, but I am pleased to say we got through it unscathed. However, I am looking forward to daddy’s return!

How do you manage to split your time between children?

My word of the week is ‘logistics’!

  1. I am a mother of three myself and my husband is almost away with work commitment most days. However I am lucky my mom is close to me so she’s a great hand when I’ve to take the two to their activities and leave the little behind.
I am the one though to do all the driving, picking, registering in activities and shopping .. It is a bless that we have the energy and modes of doing these things though :)..

    • Yes, thank goodness for online shopping and cars :)

  2. What a busy week! It’s so difficult sometimes to juggle your time around for all three children. Hope next week is calmer :) #WotW

    • Hubby back tomorrow, so fingers crossed it should be slower :)

  3. Splitting my time between three kids has already proved challenging, and I’m only 6 weeks in! Hats off to you Karen, sounds like you have it all under control! It’ll certainly make you appreciate hubby more on his return ;-) #WotW

    • Splitting yourself between children is never easy at the best of times. You will get used to it, but it is definitely a lot easier when hubby is around x

      • Amen to that! You must be glad to have him back…

        • Oh definitely :)

  4. Sounds like you managed to get the logistics sorted even if it was a bit hectic!

    • We did, thank you

  5. I have 4 and find it difficult splitting time between all of them even when the hubby is at home! Especially when it comes to after school clubs etc #WotW

    • It is hard isn’t it x

  6. My husband was just away in London for two weeks on business which meant that my poor kids were often late for everything as my timings were completely off. My logistics were not very impressive unlike yours.#wotw

    • I only had one week to deal with, sometimes, things are just not possible :)

  7. Sounds like you’ve had a busy week!! Sounds like you’ve managed really well x

    • It’s been busy, but we got through it x

  8. This does sound challenging! I don’t have this problem yet, as it mainly centres around what Boo’s up to. I’ve a feeling this may be my world in a year or two, though! Thanks for sharing with #WotW

    • Yes, things change rapidly, keeping us on our toes!

  9. Great word of the week. It sums up being a mum so well! Just like you, I have no family around whatsoever, three children (fourth baby due in June), work and so many places to be at one time. I do not want my children to miss out either so I end up running from one place to another without stopping. They do not tell you that before you have children, haha! Mel #WotW

    • This is true! ;)
