Settling

Settling

This week has been Pinky and Boos first week of full time school. I am very pleased to say they are still enjoying it. They walk/run to school in the mornings very happy and come racing out each afternoon excitedly giving me a hug and telling me what they’ve been up to. They love getting out their work and showing me their colouring/writing etc, though it’s very difficult, as I don’t have time to look straight away, we have to walk round to another part of the school to collect their brother. I hope this won’t dampen their spirits.

I am settling into time at home on my own. It has felt very strange. I have mostly enjoyed some peace and quiet and am catching up on ‘me’. I have written many lists of all the things I will now do whilst the children are at school, but I am not starting them until next week. I wanted a week of settling down, slowing down and time to think. It has been quite refreshing after six years of non stop noise, screaming, running around and cramming a million things into each day.

BB is settling into his new classroom too and keeps coming home telling me all about how the workmen put a security catch on the door etc. It is funny the way he always tells me when builders have been in or, someones had to fix something etc, but never tells me what he gets up to learning every day?!

All in all, we are all settling into a new routine together and apart. Fingers crossed everything continues to go well.Settling

    • Thank you

  1. I am so glad to hear the kids are all settling in well … and I so know what you mean about some “Me” time and list writing. How do people survive without lists! Mind you it’s computers that have taken over our week!

    • Thanks. I am needing lists more and more these days (maybe it comes with age)!

  2. Great to hear the little ones are settling in well AND you have had a week to yourself.

  4. That made me smile about the builders, bless him! Lovely to hear and I think you did the right thing by taking some time before embarking on new projects-it’s good to have some breathing space I think :)

  5. They look so cute in their uniforms! :) My little girl has finally settled at “big” school too. She just turned 4 end of August and is the youngest in her class you see, so she’s been a bit teary for the first few days but is definitely okay now :) Phew! #wotw.

  6. Great word, and so pleased that the twins are enjoying it so much. Love how your son just fills you in on the school building maintenance! Glad you’re enjoying your own time, and I think taking time out to just relax ad be is the perfect thing to do x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  7. Lovely word! Glad to hear they are settling into school life so well x

  8. Sounds like all three are doing really well hon. I’m sure you’ll get used to the peace :-) #WotW

    • Thanks, I’m sure I will x

  9. Lovely photos. Glad your girls are enjoying school, and your son his new class. My youngest is only in afternoon nursery but I know it took longer for me to settle into the new routine than him!

    • That is so true
