A snowy holiday…a kids paradise

A snowy holiday…a kids paradise

This blog is all about letting kids be kids…..basic childhood fun. What better holiday can you possibly imagine for a child, than a skiing holiday? Snow, skiing, sledging, snowman building, snowball fights and hot chocolate, I think it would be my kids idea of paradise!

Mark Warner are looking for 5 bloggers to become #MarkWarnerMum Family Holiday Ambassadors, so I thought, why not have a go? This blog is young, but it’s growing rapidly and Mark Warner is about singles, couples and family holidays, exactly what Let kids be kids is all about.

There are five of us in this family, three children (though sometimes I think I have four children with hubby!). BB aged five who is very active, loves using his imagination and exploring just about anything and everything. Pinky and Boo are my three year old twin girls who are also very active, love gymnastics, swimming and anything pink! Then there is mummy and daddy who just love doing things as a family and spending as much quality time together as possible. We are all about creating amazing childhood memories for our children whist having loads of fun.

Our family

As a family we love being outdoors, going for walks in the forest, playing on the beach, riding scooters and climbing (though, the climbing may just be for the children). There is nothing better than mother natures playground.

I asked BB what his ideal holiday would be, sun, snow, caravan etc? His reply (without any prompt from me, was…SNOW!!!!!! Therefore, as we are an active family and BB definitely wants snow, we would love a skiing holiday. My children have never been skiing and I have only been once for a weekend in Scotland, not quite the same as Austria, France or Italy (it was still amazing though).

Now, I think back to my favourite family memory, which was one snowy day last year……

The snow fell over night, when the children got up and saw the snow, they were sooooo excited! (Not to mention hubby too, I told you I have four children). That day school closed at lunchtime, so I suggested BB’s friends came home with us and we all had a picnic together on my lounge floor. Daddy came home too, we all went off on our sledges to have fun in the snow.

Children sledging

The children loved sledging and building snowmen and a snow dog (yes, that had to be done!), rolling around in it and checking out what snow does. This was closely followed by, a lovely warming hot chocolate together. It was one of the best impromptu days I have experienced. I would love the opportunity for my children (and us if I’m honest), to experience some snow, skiing, sledging and outdoor fun properly, I think we would all have such a great time together creating special holiday memories (and that’s what childhood is all about).

Snowman building fun

My children love to be active, they spend so much of their time laughing and giggling together when they are running around, I think an active family holiday would be amazing. They have never been abroad before, so to see their little faces light up with all the new experiences, cultural learning and fun would be absolutely magical.

The bonus of a Mark Warner holiday, would be that there is a ski school, crèche and childcare service. This would enable us to spend quality time together as a family, but also get some adult time too (absolutely perfect, as mummy and daddy don’t often get adult time).

We would all be beginners and Mark Warner offer great ski schools with English-speaking instructors, which I believe is important.

It would be such a fantastic opportunity to be given the chance to become a Mark Warner Mum Family Holiday Ambassador. I love writing, I love new experiences and this is one the whole family can enjoy and promote.

  1. What a lovely focus for a blog. I agree that kids are pushed to grow up too quickly. Good luck with the competition! Sounds like it would be a great holiday.

  2. Good luck! Would love to win something like this too, especially since my daughter hasn’t seen snow yet. It doesn’t really snow in North Cornwall :( #PoCoLo

    • Ah, snow is so much fun. My kids only got to play in it those few days, they’ve not seen much of it otherwise. It was such a magical day, I would so love them to experience it properly :)

    • Thank you x
