Let kids be kids Linky 12/11/13

Let kids be kids linky badge
Welcome to let kids be kids linky.

This is a linky all about letting kids be kids, getting back to basics and having great childhood fun. We live in such a fast paced modern world with loads of technology and stresses round every corner, we need to remember to just ‘play’ and have fun, it’s healthy for us all (yes, that includes you parents!).

I originally set this linky up on my other website, but recently decided it needed an identity of its own, hence, this site has been born and my mission to raise awareness of letting kids be kids has started. Please join me in spreading the word for children to step away from the computers and screens for a time and go out, run around, use their imaginations and just have general basic FUN!

Last week, we had a very busy half term, making lanterns, doing fireworks art, having guy fawkes fun and some science experiments, just to name a few things we did. It was a great week, but now back to routine. What did you get up to over half term, halloween and guy fawkes?

I have been thinking about ‘Let kids be kids’ and would like to propose a suggestion of a ‘screen free day’, to help raise awareness and encourage children away from the screens. This would involve a date being chosen (probably not until January, as everyone will busy up to christmas). On that day, everyone that would like to take part, would pledge to turn screens off for the day and then blog about what they got up to and how much fun they had etc. (thank you Debra for the idea) What do you think? Would you join in? I’d love to know your thoughts.

Last week there were some great fireworks crafts at In the playroom, some amazing decorating of sweet beets at Mad house family reviews and how about some simple outdoor fun with a ball and a box at Mum turned mom. Thank you everyone for linking up, it is always such a pleasure to read about what you are all is getting up to.

There’s not many rules, just link up your posts, old or new, about genuine childhood fun (of any age). It may be fun outdoors, jumping in puddles, nature hunts, riding bikes or making mud pies. Or it may be fun indoors with arts and crafts, making dens, cooking, messy play or reading. Or how about visiting a farm or fun at a fete. Or a discussion about kids growing up too fast, etc.

Whatever basic fun you have been having or discussing, link up and share your ideas, visit others to get inspiration, but most importantly, HAVE FUN!

This linky will open every Tuesday for 6 days, so there’s plenty of time to add your posts.

Please spread the word and grab my badge from my sidebar if possible.

If you tweet me your link (@karenattwinlife), I will happily retweet.
