Alice in Wonderland party
Last weekend we headed back to my parents for an Alice in Wonderland joint 21st and 40th birthday party.
Saturday morning saw us all helping to set everything up, from the Alice in Wonderland croquet, to lots of little teapots, huge pom poms and the making loads of sandwiches. The bouncy castle turned up and that was it, the children were gone, bouncing for the rest of the day!
There were so many finishing touches to the party. There was a fantastic toadstall which had been made using an umbrella and papier mache. There were massive tissue paper pom poms, clocks, Alice’s chair, bunting, pretty teapots and cups and saucers. The food and cakes were amazing, my Sister-in-law always makes the best cakes!
Loads of people dressed up in the most fantastic costumes. I must confess, I can’t actually remember all the characters, but they all looked great. My three children wore bunny ears and we made up their faces to be rabbits which they delighted in! Everyone started trying on other random hats and costumes, which brought about quite a lot of laughter, especially when Grandad tried on the lion costume!

My children had the best day ever! They absolutely loved the bouncy castle. They bounced almost solidly from the moment it arrived to the time we let it down at 7.45pm. They practiced all their tuck jumps, straddles and even some somersaults, though they were more ropy poly’s in reality! Adults had a go too, Grandad had fun and yes, even I got on there to join in the fun for a bit. But I have to admit I didn’t last long, it was exhausting (must get fitter)!
We had a game of Alice in Wonderland croquet. My sister-in-law made a fantastic croquet course with all the characters from the story and even made the pink flamingoes for the croquet sticks.
Everyone had a lovely time with lots of fun bouncing and running around, playing, eating and chatting.

This looks absolutely AMAZING!!! So much thought must have gone into making this wonderful party! Wow!!!! x #countrykids
Thank you, my sister in law really do put a lot of effort into this party
Just wow! Looks like an amazing party, and clearly everyone had fun! The kids look so cute as bunnies

Everyone really did have a great time, especially the children!
I believe all your comments to this post are going to contain WoW and Amazing
I absolutely love the umbrella toadstool, and those cakes…mmmmm I bet everyone had a fantastic time.
Those cakes were delicious and all the decorations really create atmosphere
A huge effort, just the most fantastic spread and your adorable children, what a super family party
Thank you, it was fantastic
This is brilliant. Love the croquet flamingos. I know what you mean about bouncy castles. It kills me being on N’s trampoline, where children can bounce for ages.
We had a village fete when we were children, and our estate did Alice in Wonderland. I could have supplied you cheshire cat, card painter and white rabbit outfits! I do think the book lends itself to a great party theme.
Ah, those costumes would have been great! Bouncy castles are great fun, but really tiring
This looks AMAZING! My days, did you make everything yourself?? Loved it all! x
Thanks, I confess, it wasn’t me making all that, mostly my sister in law. I just made some sandwiches and helped put some things out.
Aww one of the most amazing party theme! Everyone loves it and looks like the party rocks! #countrykids
