Eggs

Eggs

EggsWe have all had a good week and with daddy back home things have calmed down a little. Hence this week has been more focused on outdoors, fun and ‘eggs’!

The weekend was spent outside in the garden mostly, but in between the garden play, the children were going in and out, blowing and decorating eggs. BB had a competition at school to decorate eggs, so the children were all desperate to have a go. The eggs had to dry after each coat of paint etc, so it actually became a whole weekend activity.

They did enjoy their eggy fun, especially the blowing of the eggs…..the faces they made were quite a picture! Here’s BB’s creations…..Egg decorating

BB didn’t win his competition, but after seeing everyone else’s entry I can see why…..lots of parental help I think. A whole circus scene won, closely followed by a scene from the eggsfactor! This made BB’s mere bee and ladybird spring scene look rather small. However, BB didn’t mind, he was happy that he got 2 mini eggs.

Once the eggs were blown for the decorating, of course we had to make something for lunch with them, so we made egg muffins. Pinky, very much loved making these for everyone, they were so simple and yummy.Egg muffins

So, you can see, we have had a very ‘egg’ focussed week!

  1. Yum! And lots of fun… I really hope we might get the boy doing a wee Easter egg hunt in my parents garden this weekend – we will see if he gets the idea! :). Your boys eggs are amazing, and he did it all himself! #proud #wotw

    • Hope you have fun with your egg hunt, they are fab!

    • Thank you

  2. I loved your eggs decorating post the other day and now love the egg muffins, too! We will be doing these, thanks. Eggs does seem the perfect word! Thanks for sharing with #WotW

    • Thank you x

  3. Your kids’ eggs are lovely. Just sort of crafts my kids would love doing too. I actually don’t like eating eggs so since my kids were little I’ve had my husband cook them eggs once a week!

    • Thanks, a bit of egg decorating for easter is the best activity :)

  4. Your BB’s eggs are adorable! Its funny you should mention the parental help – we had an easter crown competition at toddler group today. OK its hard to say that any of the children of that age would have had much of a hand in the crafting but it did spark a bit of a debate! #WotW

    • It is a debate. The children do need some help, BB didn’t make his eggs 100% alone, but I do think there is a limit to how much help should be given. BB did do most of it himself.

  5. Sounds like a fun week. I think BB’s creation is really good. If I was a judge, I would always specifically choose items that had clearly not had parental help x #WotW

    • Definitely :)

    • It has been good :)

  6. Perfect word. I never liked having to blow the eggs. Loving Humpty Dumpty :-) #WotW

    • My kids really enjoyed the egg blowing part :)

  7. BB’s creations are fab, love them! I will be putting them on Pinterest for ideas as we will be decorating eggs in the holidays. Mel #WotW

    • Great, thank you :)
