Paperwork

Paperwork

PaperworkMy word of the week has to be paperwork. As soon as your child starts nursery/preschool you get lots of forms, letters and reply slips to fill in and return. However, when they start school the whole paperwork thing steps up a notch.

Ever since BB started school I have struggled to keep up with all the forms that needed filling in, the dates to remember, the reply slips to go back etc. I have been worried how I will manage when I go from having just one child in school to having three. I am now starting to get the gist of what it’s going to be like.

This week I have been filling in my twins school admission forms, which means completing the same form twice, one for each child. By the second I was already filling it in wrong (got her date of birth wrong, as they are not actually born on the same day, it gets very confusing)! For those who saw my post last week, I have decided to request that they be kept together. I just hope we have made the right decision.

I have also had paperwork for a school trip, a Beavers trip, newsletters from both school and nursery as well as keeping on top of all the usual dates etc and my own blogging paperwork and dates. Having just become a Center Parcs family blogger ambassador, I am just starting to glimpse my blog stepping up a notch, which is a good thing, but I need to get used to it. It’s not easy when you have never been used to deadlines. However, I am really excited about it all!

I think I will get used to all the paperwork, forms and deadlines, I just need to get organised.

How do you manage multiple children at school with all the paperwork and dates etc? What tips do you have?

  1. I know you will have evaluated thoroughly and made the best decision. I’m sure the girls will love being together #WotW

    • Thank you x

  2. It’s paperwork central here and that’s just one child in school and Beaver’s! My son starts pre school in September so it’ll become positively snowy here. I’m sure you’ve made the right decision for your twins as you’ve obviously given it a lot of thought.

    • Thank you, the paperwork does take a bit of getting used to

  3. My goodness, never ending paperwork. My worst nightmare. Hope you find a solution soon! I’m sure the twins will do great together :) x #WotW

    • Thanks, I must get more organised ;)

  4. I am not looking forward to this. Son will start school this September and I dont even know what its called. Its after pre-school. But if it gets too much (paperworks) ill ask hubby to take over =P #wotw

    • It does take a bit of getting used to and organisation

  5. Ah, that’s a lot of paperwork! I have all of this to come, and we’ve yet to receive forms for Boo, apart from her acceptance slip. I’m a total geek with stuff like this, though, and actually enjoy form-filling! I find doing it on the day it arrives help, and everything goes on my family calendar in the kitchen. And so lovely to hear your blog’s stepping up a notch, as I really enjoy reading :) Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

    • I try to use a family calendar in the kitchen too. I must start doing things as they arrive though, that would help. x

  6. I know the feeling! My Little Monkey is only at Pre-School and already he brings home that much paperwork. Im rubbish with dates etc, so we got one of those glass memo wall boards from Ikea you can just write on with a wipeable marker, everything gets scribbled on there lol!. Great post. x

    • Good idea x

  7. i know EXACTLY what you mean. almost every day my son comes home with paperwork of some sort or another and he’s at part time nursery! i have to deal with anything as soon as it comes in the door otherwise i’ll forget it! #WotW

    • It is tough

  8. Both my girls are in school year 2 and year 6….I’ve found writing everything on the calendar and pinning the letters on the notice board helps keep things organised! My youngest has a great memory for dates and keeps me right…hehehe

    • I wish my kids remembered things like that ;)

  9. Both mine are at high school and the paperwork can be repetitive with them too. I’m sure your girls will love it together :) #WotW

    • Thank you :)

  10. We have a family calendar which all of the activities get written on. But as for paperwork? It gets dumped on our kitchen breakfast bar and stays there in an ever increasing pile until one of the kids reminds me that something needs to be handed in! Terrible organisation :-)

    • It’s not easy is it?

  11. Well I’ve only got two children and neither are at school yet but I picked up a massive pack of forms to fill in when I registered JJ for his start in September so I can see where this is going! All the blogging stuff sounds exciting – good luck with it. X #wotw
