A family roller coaster week
We have had a roller coaster of a week. Last weekend we had the best family holiday at Center Parcs. I will be posting all about it next week.
We had a fantastic fathers day, daddy loved his apron we made him and all the cards. We had a wonderful meal out as a family.
We explored the area of Center Parcs, the forest, the lakes/ponds, we collected loads of pinecones, rode bikes, played in the playground. It was amazing just how much fun you can have in a few days.
On arriving home from our holiday, I received a letter from school telling me what class my twins have been placed in for starting in september. I wrote all about making a decision to have my twins placed together here. However, even though I had asked them to be placed together, they were actually going to be in separate classes! This news just made my happiness from the holiday plummet! My heart sank. Why did the school not listen to me?
The next day I spoke to the school and found out they had placed them in separate classes because they are identical and look the same! I personally don’t think this is a good reason to split twins up. If you get to know my twins you can tell them apart, surely it’s a teachers job to get to know her pupils. I do realise it will be tough for the teacher, but I believe that is preferable to my twins taking a long time to settle in because they have been separated.
After discussing this with them, they have agreed to place my twins together! Yay, I feel quite relieved, although I do also feel more pressure. Have I made the right decision as I had to push for it and go against the school’s policy. I can’t understand why no other twin parents have requested this before, I’m sure I can’t be the only one?
Now, after going through all this, I have been trying to prepare for Britmums live. I am excited and very nervous. I am pleased to be meeting up with some other great bloggers at Paddington station before hand. I am looking forward to experiencing Britmums live and learning a lot whilst making new friends.
Hence this week has been very up and down.

Oh no, after all of that deliberating on your part, too. Glad you had a brilliant break and hope Britmums was good, but what a frustration to have in the middle there. I’m sure you have made the right decision, as you thought it through so much, and like you, I find it odd that you’re the first parent to have requested this. Hope you’re feeling OK about it x
Thank you, I had a great time at Britmums. It is tough making a decision in the first place, but then to have to fight for it a second time is difficult. I am not good at fighting for things, but I did because I feel strongly about it x
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend at Center Parcs. It’s a tough decision deciding whether to split up or keep together! However the Triplets primary school is so small that two school years are in one classroom so they ended up together anyway!
It is difficult to make that decision, I hope your triplets have liked being together
Centre Parcs sounds brilliant-always fancied trying that one time. I can understand your agonising over the twins and it’s a shame the school weren’t able to communicate with you beforehand about their reasoning. Just keep your line of communication open and try not to worry too much about whether it’s the right decision or not-time will tell and nothing is ever set in stone.
I hope you also enjoyed a Britmums too x
Thank you. Britmums was great. I can’t understand why the school didn’t speak to me first if they wanted to go against what I had requested either, I could have explained things then. x
oh so glad they put your twins back together. That would have made me so upset and nervous too. So lovely to meet you at BritMums Live. Always amazing to put a face and a voice with a name and a blog. lol You are just as lovely as I thought from your blog. #whatsthestory
Thank you very much, it was lovely to meet you at Britmums too. x
Its a nice thing that you were able to sort the school dilemma as your going to think of that in the britmums event and it will ruin it. #WhatsTheStory
I am glad it got sorted before britmums or you are right it would have spoiled it
Oh gosh, after all you went through making that decision in the first place! I am quite surprised that is their policy actually! I am glad you got it all sorted out. looks like you had a lovely holiday and I love the apron for Daddy, fantastic! xx #whatsthestory
We did have a fantastic holiday thank you and glad I got my twins school sorted, it’s quite a relief now
I hope you had a great time at Britmums. I’m glad that the twins are being kept together. x #whatsthestory
Thank you, i did have a fab time at Britmums
Sounds like you had a great time at Center Parcs, look forward to hearing about that. As a parent with one child, it’s difficult to have a point of view on the twins but I’m really surprised at the school’s policy of splitting them up. I guess it depends on what their reasons are. If its just a case of not being able to tell them apart then absolutely they should stay together. They’re still two people with two personalities. I hope you had a great time at BritMums, sorry I missed you #whatsthestory
Thank you, yes I had a great time at Britmums
