Handprint christmas tree

I love christmas crafts, so I am excited to be able to start now it’s December.

This week we loved making a handprint christmas tree. It was so easy, fun and messy!

I put some green paint on a sponge and the children used that to create lots of handprints. They did need a little help making sure the handprints were full enough. Then I let them loose to do more prints on their own too.

Once the prints were dry, I cut them all out and we all stuck them down on some card with glue in the shape of a christmas tree.

Then came the best part, decorating it. The children stuck star stickers, other sparkly stickers and pompoms all over the tree.

This was so effective, yet very easy and it’s lovely having my children’s handprints on there. If we do this every year and keep them, I will also have a record of their handprints growing.

You could make it even simpler by putting the handprints straight onto the paper, rather than cutting them out, but I prefer the cutting out effect.
