Autumn activities list round up

At the beginning of Autumn, I wrote my autumn activities list (on my twinlifeonline site), which was a kind of bucket list of all the things we wanted to do throughout autumn.

As we are fast approaching December and christmas, I thought I’d write about how we got on……

  1. Go on a leaf walk (kick about in fallen leaves) - We have done this, though there were not as many leaves as I would have liked.
  2. Collect conquers and play conquers – We went conker hunting and then made some fantastic conker caterpillars and people as well having conker games (great fun).Conker caterpillars
  3. Do leaf rubbingsLeaf collections and leaf rubbings, were actually quite tricky to do, but good fun.Leaf rubbing
  4. Do leaf painting –  Leaf painting, was very mess, but most children love mess!
  5. Do an autumnal nature walk
  6. Do some leaf number and letter games I found from pinterest
  7. Do some simple science experiments from a book BB hasVolcano magic - absolutely fantastic experiment to do, the look on my children’s faces were quite magical.
  8. Cooking – We made apple scrumble (Yummy!)
  9. Carve a pumpkin – We carved a pumpkin and made lanterns and spider cakesLantern making
  10. Do some autumn crafts - We had lots of autumn creative craft funAutumn nature monsters
  11. See a firework display and bonfire – We had a fantastic family time watching fireworks together
  12. Do some sparklers - We also made some edible sparklers (Yum!)
  13. Jump in muddy puddles – We went on a play trail, with lots of great puddles!
  14. Scary face painting
  15. Fireworks pictures – We had fun experimenting with different fireworks art picturesFireworks picture
  16. Make an indoor den
  17. Have a family movie afternoon
  18. Make a guy – We loved making a guy for our bonfireMaking a guy for the bonfire
  19. Craft with pinecones
  20. Enjoy family time together - We had loads of great family time together and we also had an amazing weekend away too!

Wow, when I see it all written down, it makes me realise how much fun we have all had! It has been a busy autumn, but I have loved every minute of it and my children have had lots of new, exciting experiences, which I know they have enjoyed.

I think 16 out of 20 items ticked off our list is not bad going, we couldn’t find pinecones to decorate, we didn’t have time for face painting and I think a making a good den can now go on our winter list.

Making a list of activities to do for each season has been great, it gives me lots of incentive to get out there and complete it. I think I am going to have to make a christmas list next. I already have a few ideas for that one.

Why not make your own christmas or winter to do list, I would really recommend it? Let me know how you get on and come link it up to my let kids be kids linky, which opens every Tuesday.
