Engineer in the making?

Can you tell what your children are going to be when they grow up?

I think we have another engineer in the making. BB’s daddy is an engineer and his Grandad was an engineer, now BB is definitely showing signs of the engineering in his blood.

From the moment BB could move around (even as a baby), he was turning his toys upside down. He would turn his little push along walker upside down, spin the wheels and try to figure out how it all works. If he could pull something apart he would, just to investigate what was inside.

BB is very inquisitive, he loves to see how things go together and last week showed me a classic example of this. He had a little (cheap) speaker that broke, so instead of throwing it away, he decided to completely pull it apart, get scissors to it, cut all the wires and the electronic board (or whatever its called). He absolutely destroyed it! It was fascinating to watch him. He loved it…..investigating the inside of an everyday item. he even wore daddy’s high vis jacket. Daddy, then spent time talking to him about it, showing him what’s what. He was completely engrossed.Playing engineering

BB also loves experiments. We did the classic volcano experiment a while ago and BB’s face was such a picture, the surprise and thrill he showed when the volcano erupted was amazing. He is loving the science club he’s attending at school and can’t wait to tell us all about it when he gets home!

I think secretly, daddy would love BB to be an engineer too, but it will be up to him. We don’t mind what he does as long as he’s happy.

What do you think your kids will grow up to be?
