Marble run review

Marble runThe other week we had a try at making our own marble run out of recycled toilet roll tubes etc. We had such a fantastic time. So when we were sent the Marvellous Marble Run to review we were very excited.

When the children first saw the box for the marble run, the look on their faces was a picture, the excitement, the gasp, the squeals of delight was magical. They wanted to open it and play straight away!

We opened it up and emptied it all out, we were quite surprised by how many pieces there were, 70 pieces in total, which means tons of possibilities! It also comes with some marbles to complete the fun. Additionally, there is a page of instructions, to provide an example of one way to build it.Children sorting out a marble run

My 3 year old girls first started building towers with all the link pieces, so Hubby and I decided to build the run using the instructions first, in order to demonstrate to the children how it works properly. Being a 70 piece set, it took us a little while, as it was quite complex, but once it was done, the children loved it. It was awesome watching the children fascinated about where the marbles go. Then, my 5 year old saw the marble do loop the loop, well, there was quite a shriek of amazement I can tell you!playing with a marble run

The children spent the rest of the morning playing with it and having races against each other. Later on, we decided it was time the children had a go at building a run themselves. My 5 year old had loads of fun trying to work out how to link pieces together to get the marble to complete a run of the course from the top to the bottom. He then helped his younger sisters to build their own. This kept them amused for most of the day.children playing with a marble run

I also found this marble run a fantastic teaching tool, with respect to gravity and why heavy objects move down hill. The children learnt, if they put the connectors the wrong way round the run would not work. They also learnt that by connecting the pieces differently they got a longer or shorter run.

This marble run is bright and colourful, with loads of interesting connections and cascades. It is sturdy and faired very well under the playfulness of three small children. It provides hours of amazing fun and learning for all the family.

If you are looking to buy ‘gifts for kids‘, I would recommend this marble run, it provides hours of fun for children (and adults!).

NB. We were sent this marble run to review, but all opinions are my own.
